Wake up O sleeper!

Eph 5:14 - "Wake up O sleeper, rise from the dead; and Christ will shine on you!"

Wake up church! Wake up Christian! Your Lord is at work.

May your faith shine like a bright beacon in the darkness as you work wholeheartedly as unto God.

You have been given the gift of life; of skills to work; of ears to hear and a mouth to speak, declaring His praises.

Go for it!

(My little soapbox for the day - had a great catchup with my prayer team this morning...)

Technology and the Gospel

A few days ago I received a new mobile phone for work - an HTC Wildfire - which is very much like an Apple iPhone. This is streaks ahead of the phone I had previously: a Nokia e51. There are some great Apps available for this beastie, including the Amazon Kindle eBook reader and various Bible reading applications. I have downloaded a free eBook called "What is the Gospel" by Greg Gilbert of 9 Marks fame. This is a great little book for new Christians, old Christians and not yet Christians. Four key words make up the Gospel: God, man, Christ, response. I like it!

I am so encouraged that Christians are using technology for edification and evangelism - this is a great use of the gift of technology for God's glory!

The Sola Panel | How new will the new creation be?

The Sola Panel | How new will the new creation be?

Weighing in on the discussion/controversy about the new creation. Will it be a "brand new" Creation, or is their some kind of continuity between now and then?

Just in CASE

On the Just in CASE blog there is a write-up about work - what does the Bible teach us about work? CASE magazine edition #24 explores issues such as finding meaning and identity in work, the place of work in our lives, is it God's plan in our lives, etc...

Personal Update

Aah the busyness of modern life...I don't how half of the bloggers out there get the time to jot down their thoughts, let alone regularly churn out entries...

This year has seen a flurry of activity in many areas of life.
Family: looking after two sometimes very demanding little ones;
Work: a secondment to a project team for a complex finance system as a Business Analyst has seen me on a very steep learning curve;
A group of Christian colleagues and I have also begun meeting as an EPT (Evangelistic Prayer Team) to pray for opportunities to share the glorious Gospel with our colleagues at work;
Lunchtimes on occasion I have gone out into Hyde Park with another person to do walk-up evangelism - a daunting but encouraging enterprise!
Study: I have begun Part-Time theological study at Moore College - a new initiative on their part, which means city workers like myself can dip a toe into the waters of theological study. All good stuff!
